Some exciting news!

{source}
After months of talking about it, and lots of encouragement from Travis and Jamie over at Owl Really, I finally went and signed a contract for a space at an antique mall near my house. I'm starting small, with just a case, but I'm pretty excited about it!
I'm at the point where I have no real reason to go to sales or thrifts or the flea market because my house is FULL! But it is my favorite thing to do so I needed to find a venue to share my passion for vintage and kitsch with other people! My original plan was to do an etsy shop (you might have seen the widget in my side bar for a micro second) but I love merchandising at work, and I think this will be more fun for me. Now the hard part is picking things to sell. Ahh! But I've got to learn to let some go before I become a hoarder!

So wish me luck! I've got about two weeks to plan, then I'll be open for business!

  6. Oh my goodness, Chucky & I just did the same thing at an antique mall here in town called Attic Treasures! We've been on the waiting list for 7 months & they finally had an opening & called us last week. We get to move on in as soon as the fella gets his stuff moved on out or July 1 (whichever comes first)!

    I am excited & nervous, but it will be nice to be able to sell some of the larger items that I don't really want to bother posting on Etsy due to the hassle & cost of shipping.

    I am so sad (& a little relieved) that we live on opposite ends of the states 'cause I'm sure I could spend a pretty penny in your booth!

    Congrats & have SO much fun!

  7. Good luck. I wish we had something similar here. There is one small antique store but I never see anyone go in it. I think selling on Ebay has actually turned me into a hoarder. Yeah I do list what I buy but my house is being overtaken by Ebay stuff. oh btw I love travis' name on ebay. I found his items by searching for the vest you told me about and then narrowing it down to Nashville (I sound like a stalker. Im not though Just curious as to what he has been finding)

    1. haha, thanks! it isn't stalkerish at all! he ended up selling the vest for 75, which is pretty great for a 2.99 investment. i have allocated him 2 bins to put his selling stuff in, so we don't get taken over. also, we're making a rule that if it doesn't sell after 3 listings, back to goodwill it goes!

  8. This is GREAT news! I've been a dealer several times in my life! I do it when I'm feeling just like you say you are! It gives you a reason to still do what you love, but NO BUYERS GUILT! You'll make a little money, and have lots of fun! Can't wait to see your space. I hope you'll keep us posted!
