We met Tuna!

I've already had some great celebrity meetings this year, what with rubbing shoulders with Rivers Cuomo and Chip Esten in April. This month we had the chance to meet Tuna! Not familiar? You can check out his website here. Tuna is one of my favorite internet dogs to follow and I was so happy to see he was making a stop on his tour in Nashville!
I thought I was going to have to rush after work but as luck would have it, I got off early so I had plenty of time to run home, scoop up Phyllis and Travis and head to the dog park in East Nashville where it was happening. Priscilla didn't get to come because she isn't as easy as Phyllis. She was happy just hanging out in line, getting her photo taken by all the dog crazy people in line! It looks like no one else was there in this picture, but believe me, Tuna had a line.
Tuna! Can you see the love in my eyes?
As you can see, Phyllis and Tuna were very impressed with each other. Oh man, he was such a sweet little guy! I could have held him all day!
As we were leaving I had to pose Phyllis in this patch of clover under the light.
It happened to be Cinco de Mayo so we went over to our best friends' house for tacos and badminton! We didn't get to play long before the sun set, but it was fun!
We had delicious Pina Coladas! Marc is trying to become a champion cocktail maker this year.
Phyllis had fun watching us play.
These shots of Marc and Travis are killing me!
We had a great taco dinner out on their patio. I love that it is so warm right now but the gross summer humidity hadn't set in yet. I'm trying to get in as much outdoor time as I can!

Happy Anniversary: Part Three! (pug picspam)

Oh yeah, i almost forgot to post this. i've been in atlanta for the past two days at a buyer's conference for work. it was awesome and going on a work trip like that made me feel really grown up (yes i'm still saying that and i'm 26). i'm glad to be back home though, i just wish travis wasn't working until 11 tonight.
but anyway, when i left off we had just left the zoo.

home! we decide to relax a little bit before our next stop. it is HOT and muggy out.
the girls are right where we left them. priscilla is almost deaf so she didn't hear me come in.
murray hides in the blinds. we watch a little seinfeld while we cool off.

the pugs get to go with us this time. i get their harnesses and they FREAK OUT.
in their car seat.

we get dinner from baja burrito, another nashville original. this is the best picture you get, the cicadas were too thick. i tried to get a picture of the hundred buzzing in and out of the bush in front of me but you couldn't tell how gross it was. but i've said before and i'll say it again, baja burrito is my favorite fast place to eat in nashville. and their beans are vegetarian! don't even waste your time with blue coast.

we took our dinner to the parthenon at centennial park.
put them down a step so they won't put their faces in the cheese dip.
attempted a family portrait. it came out pretty cute.
"now lets make it look like they are there by themselves!"
then we went up the hill to the dog park. it like this one because they have a separate one for small dogs.
it wasn't very crowded.
this little buddy was so sweet!
phyllis was panting really hard and making me nervous so we left. i'm really scared of one of them getting heat exhaustion (even though by this time it wasn't hot out at all)
in the back seat. they are going to use this picture for their first album cover.
dropped them off at home. see you guys later!
then we went to play bar trivia, which we do almost every tuesday night. the place isn't spectacular so i won't give you a name. but the trivia company is good. mmmm brownie a la mode.  we got second place! the last question was a list of names and you had to say if they were boy bands or insect repellant. i loved it.
we got home and attempted to watch gulliver's travels. i've always like that story (even the ted dansen tv version) and we both like jack black, but it was just terrible. we turned it off halfway through because i couldn't stand it anymore. then we went to bed. it was such a great day! i love being married to travis. we have so much fun together.

Another Day at the Dog Park

we took over 800 pictures at the space center last weekend and it's taking me forever to go through them! today is day one of my long weekend off and i had a really good time. i went to the blockbuster near my house that is going out of business and bought 17 dvds! 2 bucks each! so awesome!

i ate too much easter candy and now i'm afraid i won't be able to go to sleep.

here are some pictures from a few days ago.

i wish instead of pit bull like dogs, they would keep out dogs that act like jerks.

mental note: site on the ground at the dog park. that is pretty much my dream.

she alternates between wanting to sit in my lap...

and wanting to sit in a strangers lap. she likes to chase other dogs too.

what a freaking cutie. is it weird to take pictures of strangers dogs?

there were probably 30 tennis balls spread all over the park. phyllis doesn't fetch.

she didn't like being in the cannon.

Dog Park with Phyllis

it was 60 degrees out on my last two days off! it was so wonderful. i took phyllis to two dog parks because i wanted to be outside.

she loved it! look at that little tongue. she loves other dogs. she runs after them and plays as long as she can stand up. i wish we had a pug friend for her. she wants to play with the cats but they get scared if she runs towards them wagging her tail. travis has decided he only wants one dog though. and he doesn't want to foster anymore because it stresses him out. dang.
i tried to get a good picture of that adorable puppy but it didn't work. that is ryder, crystal's sister's shih tzu on the right. and that little puppy is a shih tzu/beagle mix! who would ever think that would be cute! he looked pink in the sun because his white hair was so fine it looked the color of his skin. so precious.

phyllis passed out on the way home.  she slept on the couch for about 5 hours straight. at one of the parks we went to there were probably 50 dogs in the small do area. it was awesome. i got to pet a baby french bulldog, a couple caveliers (i want one, but they are really expensive), some pugs, an english bulldog, and many more. i am the biggest dork, i always sit and listen for people to call their dogs, then i'll call them so i can pet them.
we've been working on the house a little bit lately. i'll post some pictures of our dining room paint job soon, and some awesome stuff we've thrifted lately. here is a 1960's frog model travis found:

someone had painted the parts, but hadn't put it together. i'm not sure where i want to put it.

i found this painting for 4 dollars! we hung it up in our living room and it looks so good!

Photobucket
that is scout! she is getting so friendly! she lets dana pet her every morning and i even got to pet her last night! we finally took her to the vet the other day and 200 dollars later she finally has all her shots and we know she is FIV negative, no worms, and will soon be spayed. she was supposed to go to a friend once she was tamed, but she is pretty much ours now. i love her so much. i can't wait to cuddle her some day.

i went to the dog park again. it's right up the hill from the parthenon, you can see it from the park! so cute.

crystal met me there, and brought scurvy. remember when she was a tiny baby last year? she's so big now! and so sweet! rose was still mean to her, but not as bad as at crystal's house.
Photobucket
there were three cute poodles there with funny haircuts. look at that fluffy tail!!
Photobucket
i was very excited to pat this dalmation! i was totally obsessed with them when i was little but i don't think i've ever actually touched one. rose hated her though! she could probably feel how much i loved her, and was jealous. haha.
Photobucket
ahhh i love this face so much!! it's my favorite. even though i'm always worried about her getting too hot, because my pug book says they can overheat easily because they have no nose basically. poor little flat face.

mother daughter portraits.

we left the dog park and went to a grassy hill overlooking the small dog park (that i somehow didn't see before) and had lunch. crystal brought me a pb&j and it was delicious.

after that i had to go home for scout's vet appointment. afterwards we hung out in the backyard while travis did some yard work. i had to take a few pictures before he cut the grass. i love all the clover and i miss it. the yard looks so sad and boring now.

then i had to give ole stinky sharkface a bath. she has been smelling so bad lately! i don't know what the deal is.

i think she couldn't decide if she liked it or not. she run towards me and dance in the hose water for a minute, then run away. it was fun though. and i finally got her all rinsed and we sat outside so she could dry in the sun. she smells much better now.
