1000 Pugs!
I really can't wait! And I can't wait for her to blog about the process. So many sweet pugs. She has a Kickstarter page too, so even if you aren't close enough to book your pug for a shoot, you can participate.

American Songwriter!
Remember a while ago when I posted about taking my vintage Christmas collection to help with a photoshoot? Well the magazine is out and I can show you the pictures now!

The shoot is in the current issue of American Songwriter!

My good buddy Brett Warren was the photographer. He does some really incredible work. Most of the stuff on his portfolio site are shoots he has done in his spare time! That makes me feel so lazy! In my spare time I usually hang out on the couch and pet my dogs!
He was kind enough to send me the images they used in the magazine so I could post them on my dorky blog.

The house we were in was INCREDIBLE. I wish I had taken my camera and gotten a picture of the living room before we set up Christmas. It was my dream house. And the kitchen was turquois with orange counter tops!! Amazing!
Those guys are the band Apache Relay. The shoot was for the magazine's holiday gift guide. They wanted a classic Christmas look. The creative director Rachel knew I had lots of kitschy Christmas and asked me to bring it by. And since Brett is my friend I volunteered to hang out and help him during the shoot.

I decorated the tree with my vintage ornaments.

Still in love with this tree.

I had so much fun that day. I got to put up my decorations, I got to hang out with Brett and Rachel, we sang, we danced, I got to hold a light box! Wouldn't being a set stylist be an awesome job? I wish I had a warehouse of vintage that I rented out to people to use in shoots. That would be a perfect career.

Vintage Photoshoot
Last week I got a really fun opportunity to pull out my vintage christmas collection to be used in a photoshoot. My friend Brett (check out his portfolio, he is amazing) was working on a shoot for the Nov/Dec issue of American Songwriter Magazine! I interned there and the creative director Rachel knew I had lots of vintage christmas stuff so she asked me if they could use it for the shoot! I took a few pictures of my collection because i don't usually have out just the vintage (I have TONS of christmas stuff) and i loved how it looked in a big pile on the table.

i was worried that i wouldn't have enough stuff! but we ended up not needing to use it all. i don't have pictures of the shoot, i wish i had taken some pictures of the amazing house we were in. it was a midcentury dream. and the kitchen had orange counters. and turquoise walls. i was in heaven! their couch was amazing. i texted travis probably 10 pictures of it saying how much i wish it was our house. and then i got to set up my aluminum tree for the first time, and couldn't stop sending him pictures of that.
so i got to set up the props then hold a light for brett while he shot. it was so fun! and it made me wish my job was set styling. i can't wait to see the pictures!

Fur & Feathers.
Lauren posted some photos from the photoshoot of crystal that she did! here are my favorites! (this is pretty much all of them) look at those bunnies! and look how cute crystal is? totally worth all the bug bites (which are currently making me miserable and whiny.)

that rooster was SO COOL. he loved to be petted and held! who would have thought? check out lauren's flickr for some more of her awesome photography. i especially love her Avery's Antlers series. I can't wait to see the other shoots she does for the Fur & Feathers series.

Bunny Rescue
it started off with a trip to waffle house for some really greasy delicious food. we've been working opposite shifts at work lately so it was nice to go on a little date.
then crystal came over and we packed up her car for the photoshoot we were going to. our friend lauren is doing lots of shoots to build up her portfolio and asked crystal to model for her. i went along to hold things. and to kiss bunnies. now obviously i can't show you anything about the actual shoot (but i'm definitely going to link to the photos when lauren posts them! i really can't wait to see them) but i can show you some cute bunny faces.
made me wish i could have a bunny!
don't worry travis, i know five animals is enough.
some of these two week old babies got to be used in the shoot! SO CUTE!!
henny penny. the handsome rooster. i got to pet him! unexpectedly cute. he made it into some photos as well. he was very good at posing.
i could have sat in that bunny room all day!
but we had to do the shoot.
i held all of crystal's bracelets for her. i won the bff bracelet contest we started back in november.
prop pile.
got some bike shots in as the sun was setting. i bet they will be stunning!
loved on some sweet great pyranese babies (there were lots of cute foster dogs there. all of them super sweet!) and then it was time to go. we had so much fun. even if today i have almost 40 bug bites on ONE knee (i guess i missed a spot with the bug spray)
