Narrows of the Harpeth

It was a beautiful weekend here in Nashville and we made the most of it by going on a hike this past Sunday. We went to the Narrows of the Harpeth. I have seen photos of it on social media (is that lame? no?) and always wanted to go. It was gorgeous!
This is the main thing I wanted to see. I thought it would be a hike to get there, but it only took about 10 minutes. The water is pretty low right now but it was still cool!
It was so fun to sit up on top of it! Travis and Marc climbed up the front, the rest of us went around and just walked up the stair-like rocks on the side. This is a photo of Crystal taking a selfie. Haha.
View from above the waterfall. We packed a lunch and it seemed kind of lame to eat if after we'd only "hiked" for ten minutes, but this seemed like the perfect spot. To bad you can't swim here!
We thought these rocks looked like coffins. Coooooooool.
Travis is down there throwing the biggest rocks he can into the water.
There was also a rock skipping competition. I forgot how to do it apparently.
After we walked back from the tunnel we walked up to the bluff. Both hikes were way easier than I was expecting.
Gorgeous view! Everyone was freaking out just because I slipped a little bit kind of close to the edge. It was fine!
We told him to pose like Sasquatch.
We found a creepy cave and crawled in of course.
We'll be back when it warms up to go canoeing here! It was such a nice place!
On the way back to town we passed a sign for a pumpkin patch. So of course we stopped. It was strange. No pumpkins to buy? But there were these awesome weird cut outs. Look at that scary thing!
I love these things.
Group photo! We were the only people there because the hay ride had just left. Worth it!
Our last stop was Joann's so Crystal could buy some vinyl. We got the boys to pose in front of these flowers outside. How cute are they? I feel like I need this as a poster.
What a fun day! We ended up at Crystal's house watching Idle Hands and drinking cider cocktails. Perfect.

Pumpkin Patch

my mom and i went to a local pumpkin patch on sunday. it was a beautiful day. i don't know if we usually go later in the year or what, but the leaves in the patch were so high! your really had to search to find pumpkins!
and the pumpkins were still green! i kind of wish mine would stay that way instead of turning orange. i think they are pretty that nice dark green.

after we picked a few pumpkins we walked back to the tent to get a few more. i love that pumpkin tower. they didn't have many interesting pumpkin varieties. it was kind of a bummer.
here is our little pumpkin haul! i think i'll look for a new patch to go to next year though. you can't really tell in the pictures but it was REALLY crowded and you had to park so far away.
mom and i had lunch at McCreary's in downtown franklin as well. I got a fish sandwich and it was incredible. mmmm. it was fun to do something with just my mom. we haven't done anything just the two of us in a long time.
I put my pumpkins by my side door just like last year. I love seeing them when i get home from work every day.

Pumpkin' Patchin'

last saturday i decided to take a day off from our vegan month and have a pumpkin donut from krispy kreme, since they only have them in october!
too bad it was kind of ugly. i had the day off, but pretty much everyone i knew was busy so i was determined to have a day of fall fun!

i put on my new tights to get myself in the halloween mood.

i go visit some friends at the craft show they are doing.

their booth is the cutest one there by far! but as usual it's the wrong crowd.

i bought this cute s'mores charm. i'm going to make it into a necklace.
i left after a few hours. brittany was already succumbing to the craft show depression. haha. that's why i stopped doing them. couldn't handle the rejection.

i finally go to this store!! it's really really cute and they teach bento classes!
they also have a totoro section. dangerous!

i bought that.

and a phone charm. because i am 14 years old. i already broke it! ugggh.

then i went to the pumpkin patch! i hadn't been to even one so far this year.

hicklin farms is my favorite. no pumpkins over 3 bucks! and they are all grown on that farm!

and they have a pug! named daisy! who was sweet.
i spent 10 bucks and got 6 pumpkin and a bag on mini pumpkins and gourds. pretty nice. the little old man who runs it (mr. hicklin) just looks at your wagon and usually says "ten dollars!" they were pretty much completely out of any interesting varieties so i went up the road to walden farm.

it was PACKED. you can't really tell in the picture but over in the activities area by the animals and stuff you couldn't hardly walk! i definitely felt like a weirdo loser walking around alone with my camera around all the families. so after a quick lap around the baby cows i picked up a cheese pumpkin and a jaradale pumpkin i left. the pumpkin patch was definitely not as fun by myself.
i decided to just pile them all by my back door so i could see them every day. i put one big one on the front porch. that is the extent of my fall decorating this year. i've been really lazy.
