Where I work we do a really good deal on double dozen roses for Valentine's day. There were lots left over this year so they let us take home as many as we wanted. I took 6 dozen! Ha! I don't have flowers around very often, but I like it! Sadly the only place in my house that I can put them is on top of the cabinet in my dining room, because a certain torti cat can't resist chomping on real flowers.
I would have SWORN I had a few wide mouth vases, but couldn't find them. The green bottle with the flower decal was a lucky garage sale find from the summer.
What do you think of the green roses? There were the most of those left, I guess they weren't popular this year, but I like them! I think the almost look like a lettuce bouquet!A certain someone just couldn't keep away! See how her ears are back? That is because I had sprayed her with a water bottle about ten times before I took this picture!
For the rest of the day, every time I went into the dining room this is the scene that greeted me. But with all her plotting and planning, Scampi never was able to make it up there. Thankfully! The flowers are still holding up, almost two weeks later! I think I need to treat myself to fresh flowers more often.
What a fun treat! I don't normally have fresh flowers either, but My sweets got me some for Valentines day and I am doing everything I can to keep them going hehe. Enjoy your flowers!

I love fresh flowers too and don't have them often enough either!!
ReplyDeleteI have to say, I have never seen green roses before!
That display looks incredible! It makes me think that you should have faux flowers up there the rest of the year. I love that one shot of Scampi where everything has a haze over it. Poor Scampi. I'm still just amazed that your kitties don't destroy all of your pretty knick-knacks and stuff. I think I must run the home for wayward kitties. I LOVE those green roses.
ReplyDeletei don't know how i got so lucky with my kitties. it might be because the surfaces they could reach are so packed with stuff they can't really get up there to knock anything down. haha!
DeleteI love the way the roses blend almost seamlessly with your poodles.
ReplyDeleteAnd that last photo is adorable! Cats and plants hardly ever mix well. My Stella is the reason my plants languish. She eats them, walks through the pots, and sits on them so they break. She wants to be the ONLY living thing getting human attention. :-/
Ha!! I love how committed they get to destructive goals (at least my cat does!). Those flowers are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThose look so gorgeous! I don't think I've ever had green roses but now I want some. That display with all the greens and the pinks picked up by the flowers...it's just so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI loved this when I saw it on instagram last week. I HATE red roses, but love roses...so those green ones are gorgeous to me. Maybe the idea of baby lettuce heads is too cute to pass up.
ReplyDeleteyou should plant some rose bushes! i like lettuce bouquet.
ReplyDeletei have three! the two new ones don't make pretty roses though. they are pretty scraggly.
DeleteHoly Cow, those green roses!! I love them! And they all look so perfecto being guarded by all those frilly pom-pommy little poodles!
ReplyDeleteOMG! 6 dozen? I've never even gotten A rose before. So cool. Your house looks amazing with all the roses in pots/vases.
ReplyDeletei was so happy they were free! i usually just can't spend money on something that i know won't last long!
DeleteHaha I love the picture of her plotting! In my house flowers are safer nearer ground level as clumsy Tofu cat tends to jump head first into anything breakable!
ReplyDeleteI need to stop looking at your poodle collection, it's making me browse Etsy for more vintage poodles
