First ever trip to knoxville

On monday travis and I went to knoxville, tn. We've been talking about it forever, because it's the only big city in tennessee i hadn't been too. and i get into their zoo free because i have a nashville zoo membership. it's about 3 hours away from us, so...we went.

huge long tree tunnel to see the bears! so awesome!!

i was FREAKING OUT about these wax animal machines. they had them at the little zoo near my grandparents house in florida. the was melting smell made me so nostalgic.

did you know the red panda is actually the only member of the panda family? giant pandas are really bears. cute.

can you believe i wore a dress in public?

i was REALLY EXCITED to see their huge turtle collection, but they don't come out til may! which sucked because it was HOT (almost 80!) that day so it would have been fine. i love turtles.
Photobucket
while we were taking these i could hear some kids around the corner saying something about cats. so i was hoping they had a cat exhibit! how cute would that be? but it was just an old picture of a cat.
Photobucket
my little baby chicken.
Photobucket
baby camels! they guy doing the camel rides kept bringing loads of kids on camels over. i think he thought i was someones mom because i was taking a million pictures.
Photobucket
rat exhibit! they were so BIG. so cute.
Photobucket
Photobucket
the elephants were doing a really cute synchronized dance.
Photobucket
travis IS a gorilla.

so verdict, it was an allright zoo. a few nice new exhibits. the big cat part was sad though. really small and old.
Photobucket
we drove around town with the windows down. so awesome. it felt so great to be out and somewhere new.
Photobucket
we went to the yee haw industries store front. i was geeking out! the owner was sitting in the window drawing when we got there! then he told us to come to the back and watch them print if we wanted. but i chickened out.

i spent so much money! but i got some gifts for people. we're going to hang the food ones in our dining room. i already had one of them (a corndog and caramel apple on a date!) and i'm going to hang the tree set in my craft room. so much cute stuff.

Photobucket
we ate at soccer taco! fish tacos with a delicious spicy cheese sauce. so yummy.

then we walked to the sunsphere! it was built for the 1982 world's fair!

it was pretty neat. there isn't much to look at in knoxville though.

i cannot wait for our big anniversary road trip! just six weeks away!
