Too Kind

I've been meaning to post this forever. Before Christmas Laura over at Boo Bobby sent me the sweetest package. Really, these are all things I would have picked up for myself. First of all, look at that pair of pugs! She posted recently about her great built ins and she has a matching set and I love that it is almost like we have one of those heart friendship necklaces or something. Ha! Some internet friendship pugs.
This poodle book is KILLING me. I have another one about poodle hair cuts, but this one is cuter, and look at that sweet thing holding up his paw to get it clipped! I hope that I can get a little old lady poodle someday. It really is just a matter of time.

This guy made me laugh! It is like she is in my brain! I have a duckish guy like this, to hold recipe cards. But I don't LOVE the duck one, and was wishing I had something more my style. And this rooster is so perfect! Look at that felt! I love a craft, especially when it involves pinking shears and felt.
So thank you Laura! And guys you should go check out her blog! She is a vintage lover and a kind soul and even though she hasn't been posting as much since she finally got to move into her new old house, it brightens my day whenever she writes a new one.

And thank YOU for reading my blog and leaving me nice comments and saying hi if you see me out and about in Nashville (I met Jenna and Elizabeth at the flea market today!). I love blogs and the kindness I have experienced because of them.

  3. Awww, Rae. It was completely my pleasure :) I knew when I bought those pugs back in October or so, that they were really meant for you (well, half of them) I think it's equally fun to buy for others , actually it really does feel more fulfilling to give stuff than get stuff (cliche' alert!) You and Kimmie both gave me somethin, even better than trinkets. You gave my heart and mind an outlet to laugh at Kimmie's cornball, spot on musings and hours and hours of vintage voyeurism and home day dreamin clickin through your archives. I still troll your archives, by the way! Don't think there's ever gonna be an end ;)

  4. We'll have to coordinate swap packages soon, I've collected a few things you'd like! I have a folk art wood bird version of that rooster-- instead of a clip though it has scissors for the beak (think it was meant for sewing).

  6. i'm so glad i got to finally meet you! i was talking to elizabeth about how you ALWAYS blog about going to/finding the *best* stuff ever and how jealous i am of your finds and then *POOF* there you were! haha. i think lisa and i are going to try to get together or go thrifting sometime next month so if that happens then you should totally get in on it.

ANYWAY, about this post— that freaking rooster is the best! what a great little package.

  7. Awesomeness. I LOVE that rooster! And I know we've talked before about how hard pug things are to find.

  8. p.s. (I always have a p.s....This is what happens when you get old and senile. Thought sneak up on you AFTER you've made your final thoughts.) I haven't met Jenna yet but Elizabeth and her hubby are the couple that adopted the little shih tzu and chihuahua that we found last year while searching for another lost dog.

  9. I am still haunted by the "Dogs in Humanistic Poses" book. I haven't been able to find one online anywhere! WOE. These are really nice finds though; it's so nice to get mail, period, much less really neat mail from a blog friend!

  10. Ohhh I'm so jealous of you for the poodle book! Even though I keep my poodle's hair pretty short and un-poodle like I'm obsessed with poodles and their funny hair. I wish I was a more patient dog groomer, then I could give Effy beautiful hair cuts.
