Estate Sale Report!

It has been a LONG time since I went to an estate sale. 6 months in fact. I don't even look at the ads anymore because I want to get through our house clean out (slow and steady) before I start bringing home more stuff. But a friend sent me a message telling me about an amazing sale in town that I couldn't miss. The ad led with the fact that the home owners had owned a vintage store in California and the pictures were very enticing, so Travis and I headed there on Saturday. It was the last day of the sale, but there was TONS of stuff left.
Now I DID take lots of pictures of this cool house. But I didn't notice until the end that I had left the SD card for my camera at home. *Womp womp* I put a few cell phone photos at the bottom of this post, but here is what we brought home!

You wouldn't believe the yard art they had at this house! I only got that owl and the skunk, but I wanted so much more. I always pick up those wall squirrels if they are a descent price. I have a bunch hanging in my craft room. I love the style.

Some picks from the 50 cent kid's jewelry table! Miss Piggy roller skating was a must. And how could I leave behind that MJ glove!?

There was a shed full of cool little toys. That bagpipe player is a coin purse!

Travis found a whole bag of starburst silverware. We're going to replace some of our plain stuff with these cuties.

Christmas crafting supplies. I have a few plans for this holiday season. Hopefully I'll get to them.

I Love a kitchen witch! They are so weird and kind of ugly but still cute.

I didn't notice until we got home that she is a magnet! Perfect.

And these barrettes! There were three packages and I convinced myself I didn't need them all. My best friend went to the sale later and she bought the other package! Perfect!

I wanted these deer. Really bad! But we have a set like this already. They were only $45 for the pair. A pretty great deal.

Display cases full of toys!

There was a lot left in the house. I wonder if they will extend the sale. The prices were pretty high on lots of things. I bet if they did 75% off they would clear out a lot more of the house.

I'm regretting not getting this big concrete dog. He was $11 and about waist high. Travis wasn't into him though.

We did get a plastic swan though! I replaced the one I bought at goodwill years ago. It was in really bad shape and the head snapped off when I picked it up! Travis got that brown vest too.

It was really fun going to that sale. I miss them. Maybe I'll be back in 2016, and I'll be able to resist buying every single thing I like.

The August Flea: Too Hot to Handle

We've been having some of that teaser fall weather in Tennessee lately. I was excited for the August flea market, there is nothing like browsing junk with nice weather. To add to my delusion, I brought a sweater! In case I got cold! How did I forget, the August flea is the WORST! Haha, we didn't last in the heat too long. Here are some things we saw.

I have wanted one of these chalkware Elvis lamps for a LONG time! I never find one in decent shape for a descent price in the wild though. Someday he will be mine!

Anything that looks like a dream pet immediately catches my eye. 95 dollars?!?!

When it is so hot we can't resist these overpriced lemonades! They taste so good on a sweltering day.

There was lots of taxidermy at the flea, as usual. So many cute critters.

There was a whole basket of beautiful valentines, and this creepy one.

I think the heat made me not want to browse or haggle. I bought a few photos from this bin, and that is it. We had fun though!

Kimmie found this stunning piece of artwork to add to her office. You can hear all about it on her blog. For real, go read her blog! Kimmie is the best! (we have a date to see Dirty Dancing the Musical next month and I can't wait to have the time of my life)

There is a LOT of good vintage at the Nashville flea, but there is also a lot of less than desirable stuff. Like these hats.....I love drinkin' a BEEP. Haha!

I can't wait for next month! I really need a good vintage fix.

Flea Finds: June

Here is what we brought home from the June Flea!

Crystal got me this Spock 8x10. Isn't he handsome? I already have it framed on my wall. And like I said before, Neil Diamond is really speaking to me this summer. Sing it out, sing it strong!

When the vendor said the price of this little vinyl tiger was just two bucks I knew it was coming home with me.

We're working on filling our little hall with souviner plates and one vendor had a big stack, three for a dollar! Here are my two favorites. I love the ones with kitschy attractions. Marineland and Cypress Gardens! These cleaned up perfectly once I got them home.

My friend John had a little packet of vintage pictures that he sold me. They were all good! My favorite is that dog in the party hat! I didn't take a photo for some reason, but that woman on the right is standing on a broom with a funnel on her head. Wicked witch realness!

A great month at the flea!

Nashville Flea: June Edition

We were back at the flea this June.We haven't been buying much vintage this year, but I still love to browse. The weather was beautiful this day! A small respite from the sweltering heat/humidity we've all been having. Here are some of the things we saw:

I don't think I've seen this seal toy before. I love her floral wreath.

If the visible dog in the box was as cute as the illustration on the front he would have come home with me!

Best buds shopping with me. Crystal and Marc were set up here again and Crystal shopped with us for a while.

Did I mention that I'm having a Neil Diamond summer? Was happy to pick up this record!

After we had our fill of shopping we went to Baja Burrito for dinner. The weather was too beautiful to eat inside. I got my usual peasant plate. Perfection.
