I didn't make any resolutions really last year, but this year I've got a mantra of sorts: Whatever Forever. Which for me is all about getting over myself and doing what I want to do and not worry about what people think. Which isn't as serious as it sounds, haha! It's mainly about how I dress and look. I got rid of a bunch of clothes that make me feel frumpy and gross, got some new glasses (the top left and bottom right) and bought some lipstick. I've always been really self conscious and worried I "look weird" so I let that hold me back. Not this year! We'll see how it goes.
I finally took my Christmas decorations down and put the poodles back up.
It took me about a week to get everything put away, the animals loved it! Scampi made several beds out of the bubble wrap laying around, and at one point Priscilla perched herself on my pom pom wreath. One of the best gifts I got this year was a few pieces of wall paper from my grandparents house! They moved into an apartment and the house is getting redone with all white walls. I'm heartbroken! But I'm so happy my aunt brought me some of this extra paper they found in one of the closets. I'm going to frame it.
Travis bought me some Lush bath bombs for Christmas and now I'm addicted! I'm letting myself use one once a week. Reading in the bathtub with a bath bomb is so relaxing and wonderful.
We've had two "planning meetings" at two different Chuy's with Crystal and Marc. Crystal and I are finally going to get matching BFF tattoos this year after talking about it for probably 15! And we are also planning our group vacation for this year. We're going to stay in a cabin in Asheville!
Someone at work gave Travis this wind proof suit to wear when he rides his scooter to work. Sadly the torso part was too short for him, because it's so cute! I tried to get him to just deal with it, haha!
We had about a week of temperatures in the teens which is unusual for Tennessee. We were all whining about the cold, and I loved bundling up the dogs. Doesn't Phyllis look cute in her sweater?
That blanket is very popular with the dogs in this house. We dog sat Chloe again and she spent most of the time bundled up under it.
Old dog lady gang.
And here we are, watching Lord of the Rings at our friends house in novelty socks. My friend Dana got me those pug ones and I LOVE them so much!
I hope 2015 is treating you well so far!
Love your new glasses, and you look great with lipstick on! I have the same issue with trying things that are outside of my comfort zone...it shouldn't be hard but it's hard. Whatever forever! Also, the pug on the pom pom wreath is so funny....those two dogs are just the cutest.
ReplyDeleteit is so hard! i feel like i have to make myself get over it because i'm turning thirty this year, no one cares what i do!
DeleteWhat a sweet post! Old dog lady gang made me chuckle.
ReplyDeleteyes!! i'm totally into the whole 'getting over yourself' mantra; i'm going to try take it on board myself because I need to do it too! It's great to see you're embracing it already with your new glasses & lipstick; can I just say that I don't know what you were worrying about because you/they look great & really suit you.
ReplyDeletethank you
Deleteyeah gurl, that lipstick tho.
ReplyDeleteI love your new look, Rae - have a wonderful day!!!
ReplyDeletethank you jill!
Deletethat's a great mantra! I used to be afraid to dress vintage because I thought id look to weird then I just decided to go for it. I definitely get stares sometimes but if Im happy I don't care
ReplyDeleteretro rover
exactly! i think we all think other people are paying way more attention to us than they actually are. Most people are ignoring you, and then lots of other people love it! when i see someone out dressed head to toe vintage I LOVE it!
