We got to feed the babies! Three of her goats had 7 babies! She is feeding some of them, cuz the mamas decided to just feed one of the babies each. They are a breed of goat that doesn't have ears!
Their huge pet pig! Looking for a bottle. Haha.
They also had this turkey who LOVED to be petted! She came running when Shelly called and laid down so we could pet her. If you stopped, she would wait a little while, then gobble really loudly until you petted her again. So silly.
Kori's son was scared at first, then he talked himself into petting the animals. He is so cute! He would walk up to the turkey saying 'It won't hurt me, it's ok, it won't hurt me" over and over.
I'm so glad Kori came with me! We have a lot of fun at work, we always talk about all the food we love to eat. Haha, she is having another baby really soon! I bet she will be just as cute at this little nugget. That is the pose he did for me when I pointed the camera at him.
They have two great pyranese who live with the goats. This girl Maggie sat by Kori and put her paw on her the whole time we were there! She was sweet.
When we were on our way out, we went back to the garage and these babies had "put themselves to bed" by hopping up into their baby bed. So sweet.
I am so glad we got to go! These goats were SO happy and I love being able to support someone local who loves their animals so much! The goats were so friendly, they reminded me of dogs. And that pig! They also had the biggest cat I have ever seen, but I didn't get a picture of him. We are trying to set up an event where we can have some of the babies at the store. I can't wait!

ReplyDeleteI'm baffled by the earless goats! AND, I have never seen a turkey that liked to be petted. ALL the turkeys around here chase you and my grandma's "pet" turkeys were mean as h*ll. great pics!

ReplyDeletewhen i was in 5th grade a girl brought her two pigmy goats for pet day and i have been jealous of her every since! i would love to have goats! and a huge pig!

Can the goats hear from their ear nubs? When I was a kid, my friend's family had a goat (in Glengarry!) and they never had to cut the grass. He was kinda mean though!
ReplyDeleteyeah! they can hear fine! i'm sure there is some logical reason why they were bred to not have ears, but i can't imagine what it is!
