World's Longest Yard Sale!

I am so excited! I have been wanting to go to the World's Longest Yard Sale for the past few years, but never knew when it was coming up and missed it. But not this year! I've asked off work and we're going for two whole days! There are 690 miles of sales from Alabama to Michigan. Here is the map off of the official website.

I'm not sure what to really expect, but some friends of mine go every year and seem to find all kinds of awesome stuff. Have you ever been? Do you have any tips for me?
16 days and counting!  I can't wait!!

  1. I went a couple of years ago. Didn't find as many treasures as I had hoped but had a fun time anyway. www.worldslongestyardsaleproject.blogspot.com

  2. Get out! How fantastic!! We went four years ago. It's pretty insanely cool. My advice is to find certain stopping points on the route and go ahead and get hotel rooms because they book really fast along the route. Also, know that you are going to be stuck in traffic A LOT so you'll have to really get your eagle eye on to choose which ones to stop at. It's going to be terribly hot so take lots and lots of water and sunblock and small bills. You'll get kind of overwhelmed because there are SO many opportunities to stop but just tell yourself that there are tons of goodies to be had and whatever you DO hit, you'll do well. When we went, we were knocked out by how many super cheap amazing things we found. Can not wait to hear all about it!

I'm french and the biggest european flea market takes place every year in North of France in Lille for 2 days (day and night!), about 10 000 sellers... But it's easier to visit because all the streets of a city and not a long route....
Will love to see what you will find!!!!

  12. We live on the route in Gadsden, Alabama. We have a vacant lot that we sell on one mile from the end of the route. Come see us.
