Currently...

Oh man, I've been sick for a week! Mostly just terrible window rattling coughs and a completely stuffed up nose. It is getting really old. Thankfully I think I'm finally on the tail end of it. I've been taking vitamin C and fenugreek/thyme like crazy!
Do you like my KALE sweatshirt? I got it free from work and it is one of the dorkiest things I own.
I have some great finds to show you, but I haven't gone through the pictures yet. I went to a really amazing sale this past week and I can't wait to show you! Until then I thought I would fill out this little survey. I've never done it before, but I've always enjoyed seeing other bloggers do it!

currently:
loving: Rupaul's Drag Race All Stars!! Is anyone else watching it? I love that they brought back the fan favorites, thought I wish it was going to be a whole season! I'm team Latrice/Manilla, but wouldn't be made if Jujubee/Raven won. They post the episodes on logotv.com every Tuesday if you are interested! In my opinion it is the best show on television!
reading: I just finished How to be a Woman by Caitlin Moran. I had high hopes as it was supposed to be a modern, funny, take on feminism, but it was just ok. Next I'm going to read Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach. I've heard a lot of good stuff about it! I have also been rereading all my Clutch zines, since I finally got issue 19. I used to order tons of zines and indie comics a few years ago, and I'm trying to get back in the habit. It is a great way to support small business.
watching: I just rewatched Freaks and Geeks on netflix and am sad all over again that there is only one season. Such a bummer. We watched a National Geographic documentary on North Korea last night that kind of blew my mind. And full disclosure, Travis and I are currently watching Magic Mike! Haha, he rented it! Have you watched anything interesting on Netflix instant lately? I can always use suggestions!
thinking about: The upcoming holiday retail season and how much I'm dreading it! Maybe someday I won't be in retail and I'll be able to enjoy it more.
anticipating: Putting up my Christmas decorations! And a trip I get to take to Naples, Florida because of work after Thanksgiving. And I'm looking forward to election season being over. So much unpleasantness everywhere. I'll be glad when the winner is announced and I can stop worrying about it.
listening too: Mostly podcasts. My favorites are The Nerdist, Ronna and Beverly, and This American Life. Today while deep cleaning our room I listened to the Backstreet Boys station on Pandora and really loved it! Lots of Boyz II Men and power ballads to sing along too. I finally bought the most recent Tilly and the Wall record as well. It is ok.
working on: Pricing Christmas stuff for my booth. I need to go in and see my numbers for October but honestly I'm scared to.

  1. Paul and I watched Sherlock on Netflix, which was probably the best thing I've ever watched. Now we're trying to get through How I Met Your Mother, which is hilarious, but its 8 seasons are taking more time than we expected! AKA all of our time is spent watching Netflix and knitting, haha.

Elections are pretty overwhelming. We're even feeling the tension bigtime over here of your one!

Hope you survive the festive frenzy.

  3. Dont be afraid to go to the shop to see October sales. If it doesn't work out there maybe ETSY is right for you - way less overhead!

  4. I hope you feel better soon! I have been fighting it off for a week, not sure how much longer it will work. I'll probably get sick as soon as the little dude gets better. Oh well... Excited to see this sale from last week!

  5. Ive been meaning to watch Freaks and Geeks, I love hte netflix instant shows but it does depress me when good ones had short seasons. My personal sadness is Twin Peaks I was only ten when it was on for real so I never watched it but since three years ago I have watched all 2 seasons through about four times. I dont really watch any current tv accept Supernatural.

I also cant wait for election season to be over and Christmas will be fun. Ive been meaning to read that Stiff book too.

  6. I priced xmas stuff for the booth yesterday...ugh, I hate pricing SO MUCH! And xmas stuff is all ornaments and little things so a bajillion price tags. Sorry you are feeling bad...my son got diagnosed with walking pneumonia yesterday, poor guy. So if your cough doesn't get better, be sure to go to the doctor! As for TV, I am obsessed with Boardwalk Empire. Such good acting and I love the era.

  9. Bummer, I hope you feel better soon. I worked in retail for years and the holidays were my most dreaded time of year. Some coworkers actually liked the hustle and bustle, but I just saw crazy people spending more money than they had on things they absolutely did not need and then buying EVEN MORE the day after the big holidays. I guess their spending gave me a job but it was not for me. I hope that doesn't sound like I'm rubbing it in... Thanks for the book recommendations/ideas; I love to read but I rely on people's recommendations. Have fun in FL!!!
