Here is Travis changing the flood lights. It is unrelated to this post, but I had to post it.
Every once in a while I decide that I'm going to clean out every room in my house and get rid of stuff and get everything organized finally. Usually I make it through three rooms before I forget it and go back to making piles. Ha! We'll see if I can do better this time! Last week was one of those days and I decided to start with the utility room. That is how we enter the house, so we see this mess every day right when we come through the door.
Ugh, how terrible is that? That brown paper bag is full of stuff from our Detroit trip in April!
I pulled everything out of the room and sorted it. I sent Travis to Goodwill with three boxes of stuff, mostly from my failed vintage booth! (Did I ever post about that? I cant remember). I put the dogs on their chains so they could be outside with me (this part of the yard isn't fenced) and Priscilla paced and barked at me most of the time! Such a drama queen.
But a cute drama queen. Eventually she got tired and settled down.
Ahhh, much better. It is so nice to walk through the door everyday and see everything in its place. We'll see how long i can keep it up. Next up in the kitchen/dining room. I'm off work today I'm going to try and tackle those rooms after I go to the flea market.
And I couldn't resist posting one more picture of this little frog face!
it looks so great!!
ReplyDeletewere you nervous about travis on the roof?? i'd probably freak out if andy got on our roof!! :)
if you find any more vintage stuff that you're getting rid of, i will gladly take it off your hands! :) with my booth not doing well in april/may, i'm trying not to spend much on items right now.
haha, no, i don't get nervous about him on the roof, except when he went up there during the FLOOD to pull some stuff out of the gutters, i was a basketcase!
Deletei thought about that actually! it is all actually in travis' car still, maybe I'll have him drop it off on your porch instead! some of it is good stuff! and if you got it for free you could just reduce the prices and i bet it will sell!
Oh my goodness my thrifting bags sit around on the kitchen counter for at least a week before I decide to unpack them. The mister promptly unpacks and takes pictures of all his stuff and finds the perfect place for it right away. Maybe I want to go through the thrill all over again? Ha!
ReplyDeleteyou know, that MIGHT actually explain it! unpacking it a week (month) later almost feels like finding it again! I had a whole BOX in the utility room that I had forgotten about completely!
DeleteThe goodwill did well out of you today! Priscilla is too cute!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I need to do that whole "clean-up" deal in so many areas of our house it isn't even funny!
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear that your vintage booth failed, because it looks like you must have had some pretty great stuff in there!
Hmm.... now where shall I start with my OWN mess..........
:)
Doh! I recognize some of that stuff. Sorry about adding to your worries! : ) Don't keep me hanging - will I find Ole Baggy in a thrift store soon?
ReplyDeletehaha no way! the stuff from your house was just out in the yard because i hadn't unpacked the box i brought home yet! none of that went in the goodwill pile! old baggy will soon be hanging in a place of honor in my house! i just haven't decided the perfect spot yet!
DeleteIt's funny to me I have the exact same Miller High life record holder that I bought back in 1989. :)
ReplyDeletenice! ours belonged to Travis' uncle, probably in the 70's. he said he bought it at a record shop in kansas city and used it to hold his mad magazines! we use it to hold yard work shoes!
Deletei love it! it always feels so good to get rid of things you no longer use/love/need and find a place for everything that's just perfect.
ReplyDeleteI need your fortitude!!! I am trying to get into clean mode but its so hard!
