A Fourth of July Party

i love the fourth of july. This is the first year i hosted.

crystal was the only other one in a crazy outfit. everyone else looked normal.


crystal did eye makeup for me. because i have no idea how to do it.


there is a little bit of badminton playing. i tried to play with jamison but he couldn't ever hit it so it was tooo borning.
everyone looks pretty cute in their red white and blue.
travis and marc man the grill. we had hot dogs and brats and veggie dogs and handmade black bean burgers.


i made pasta salad too. it was really good. i also made coconut macaroons! they turned out perfectly! i couldn't believe it!


brittany brought this amazing red white and blue trifle! it was so delicious!
once it got dark we went back outside to play with sparklers and listen to people in the neighborhood shoot fireworks.

marissa cut my bangs for me. they were SO LONG. there was a moment of screaming when seh cut them really short but crystal and cara assure me that it looks good. haha.

of course we had to do that.

so i think the party went pretty well.

so i went to bed around two, and got up at 5 to do inventory at work. i'm so tired! hopefully i'll fall asleep fast tonight.

Backyard Cookout

it's been in the 90s the past few days and i hate it! the air conditioning is out up by the registers at work so i sweat all day, then sweat the whole way home in my car with no air conditioner. horrible. it makes me very whiney.

on friday thomas forced me to have a cookout. haha. he bought everything for it. now i think he understands wh we don't do it all the time. it's expensive!

there is that silly sunburn. it looks bad in real life, but it doesn't hurt at all.
my friend lauren gave rose this little hoodie. it has a monkey on it! so cute! we ended up having to put her inside though. pugs get overheated really fast and it's just too hot for her to be outside longer than it takes her to go to the bathroom.we get thomas to do portraits of everyone for their cups. he did this at my bachelorette party (of course he came to it!).

dinner was really awesome. veggie dogs and potatoes grilled with onion and garlic.

then we played catchphrase!!! which might be the most fun game in the whole world. we had to stop playing the electronic one because we played it so many times we all knew the order of the clues.

so catchphrase is mostly just laughing really hard. especially at moments like:

dana: the sound a lion makes!

kyle: oohhhh! ahhhh! (apparently he thought she said audience)

i love my friends so very much. they are like family to me.

A catch up post

Our anniversary party is tonight! i have a ton of stuff to do. but first i need to catch up my blog!



trivia night!! it think it's more fun in the summer for some reason. maybe because more people can come? and the more people, usually the better change we have of winning. not that we won last week. we came close though.

i made these! i've had the kits forever. they are really easy. unless your little cat decides to help you. ooo he made me so mad! but then he was cute and i forgave him.


marissa went on a date with me to the senior center my grandparents go to. the wannabeatles were there. i got free tickets because i did the poster for them. it was really fun!



I made these pancakes yesterday for breakfast. they were really really delicious. they are from the current issue of martha stewart living. after i'm done online i'm going to try another recipe from it, strawberry short cake cookies. i made ice cream last night and it's really really good! i'm really in the mood to cook lately.

yesterday we went to marissa's house to go swimming and grill!

she got a cat! her face is so cute! and marissa named her jelly, which is think is a perfectly adorable name for a kitty.

we went on a shopping spree. to micheal's for binding, and to old navy for some sweet 98 cent shirts!

we caught this cat on the way back because it matched a description of a lost cat. but it turned out to be the wrong one. hahah. poor not smokey.

kyle came over and we had a yummy baked bean dinner and watched The Mask (travis' favorite movie) and a show about touretts syndrome that was so sad! except for the girl who cursed in a baby voice. that was funny.

ok. now i'm going to go get busy! i have eight things on my list ! ah!!!
