Look at this house!

I can't believe I forgot to post this a few weeks ago! I got off work early unexpectedly so Travis and I hit a few estate sales around town. I haven't been out that much this year, but I am so happy we made it to this house! Sadly I didn't have my camera with me, but my phone takes pretty good photos! I was freaking out the most about this bathroom. LOOK AT IT!
Look at the wallpaper! And the light! There were gold counter tops that were amazing too.
OH my gosh isn't it perfect? I wish there was some way to pull it down and transfer it to my bathroom! The house was already sold I think, I really hope a vintage lover was taking it over. It was a gem!
Just look at the front door! What a perfect door knob!
I really loved this chair but Travis vetoed it. Bummer.
I would absolutely love to have a big open kitchen like this! And I love the little built in shelf, and those ovens.
I love the color of that couch.
 And a wagon wheel light!
I didn't take many pictures in the basement but it seemed like it was once ship themed! There was a cool fake port hole on one of the walls! And see that ship string art on the table?
I think we just bought a metal trash can at that sale, and went to three more. I FINALLY found something useless I just had to have. I brought home this sweet pair of kangaroos!

  6. That paper is nuts! I bet that was fancy stuff back in the day. And the front door is so cool! I've been looking into getting one like that, but holy cow they are pricey.

  7. Gee whiz...that house looks move-in ready! That poodle wallpaper is the BEST!!It is funny, I took a picture of an estate sale in our area that I wanted to show all of you Nashville area folks for comparison. We went early on the first day of the sale and the rooms were practically empty (worse than a bad garage sale and typical of ales in our neighborhood). The houses by us are so boring - the decor AND the stuff for sale!

    1. that is such a bummer! i really think we have a great area for estate sales. i've tried finding some in louisville, and in florida when we travel but they always suck!

    2. Nashville is pretty darned good. Lots of single-owner homes where the owner didn't upgrade much. If you like mid-century kitsch (and really, who doesn't?) it's not so hard to come by.

And that wallpaper is SO YOU, Rae. That's an awesome bathroom! Have you seen Magpie Ethel's pink bathroom re-do...hers turned out great.

  9. I thought I didn't go to this one when you sent me that first picture, but I remember that nautical basement theme and the freakin' out-of-control MCM dining room and bedroom suite (that wouldn't fit in my house or my budget...boooo...). So the question is...HOW DID I MISS THAT BATHROOM, OH MY GOODNESS? Poodles! In every mode of poodle-dom! Glad I got to see this again and close up!
