Little Travis waiting for our food. I wish this place was in Nashville.
Though I would normally try something different on the menu, their vegan club is SO GOOD I had to get it again. Mmmm, I want another one right now! After we ate we decided to kill some time before Rock City opened by going to an antique shop. We went to a place called the Knitting Mill. It was in an old sewing factory and was pretty cool. Here is some of the stuff we saw...Almost nothing in this little locked case was priced. Which is ANNOYING after you have gone to get someone to open the case for you. They called the dealer for me about the little gnomes (I'm a little obsessed with them now) and I ended up bringing a few home.
Lots of great Christmas in this booth.
The owner was delusional with her pricing though. I found a cute, vintage, small Christmas photo I liked and she wanted 18 dollars! I didn't even ask about the putz houses. I still don't have any.
There was a lot of cute vintage there.
And also a lot of junk. See that poodle lurking in the background though?
Santa heads! I wanted these, but I'm not letting myself buy more "projects" until I actually do a few.I wonder if those candles are actually old? They were cute and in perfect shape. I like the ribbon like tree the best.
I loved that santa, he looks like one that you would put on your roof, but tiny! Travis didn't put my santa and reindeer on the roof yet. I guess it's too late now.
Look at this great corsage! I love the little snowman head!
More from that expensive booth. Look at those sweet pine cone gnomes.
We saw some amazing artwork.
And this cute dude with his chipmunk friend.
I liked this picture but I'm really trying to stick to my few photo categories. Maybe I should add men in awkward swimsuits?
Cute devil mask.
I really loved this poodle bank! But it wasn't priced. What is the deal? Why would so many vendors have SO MUCH STUFF in their booths without prices on it! Blarg!
Oh man. I want that Santa-face corsage so badly.
ReplyDeletei wanted it too! but travis vetoed since it was 25 bucks. it is soooo cute though!
DeleteOops - I meant snowman. I have that pack of Santa heads on the brain after seeing them.
ReplyDeleteI would have def bought the santa heads, You can do so much with them!
ReplyDeleteThat bendy doll is adorable <3 Wondering if your Mickey Mouse bank picture is a secret shout out to me or I'm probable just vain? Or delusional? Or both? You should delve into that new collection of men in awkward bathing suits and run back to get that one. It was just too great!
ReplyDeletei didn't notice he was in the picture when i took it, but i thought about doing an actual shout out to you in the post! haha!
DeleteI see so much great Christmas stuff!! The Mickey pic - the tray or whatever it is, I have a tin can in the same patten, it was my Mom's
ReplyDeleteI love the knitting mill! My sister used to live down the street from out. Downstairs there is a yummy brunch place- foodworks.
ReplyDeleteThat place looks amazing! But bully to no prices...
ReplyDeleteI think that there is always room in life for a collection of men in awkward swimsuits.
Oh wait...I just realized after looking at a picture of it that I HAVE been there earlier in the year when we also went to Rock City. That place was great. I got this old sign from a church there that I have yet to hang...and now can't remember what I did with. Thanks for reminding me about that store.
ReplyDeletewhat does the church sign say? I have been on the lookout for "i missed you at church" cards since you posted about them, but haven't seen a one!
DeleteWowee! Is all the good Christmas stuff in your neck of the woods? I never see such a concentration of it anywhere. That corsage is brilliant - the snowman head is perfect!
ReplyDeleteI actually haven't been able to find much near me this year. i went to the shop that usually has the most just a few days ago, and nothing! This shop in Chattanooga had the most I've seen this year! But it was pretty high.
DeleteAWESOME! I love the little Christmas collectibles but have also found people have priced them like they are made of gold, or failed to price them at all. What's the deal with that? Thanks for showing us your adventure. I know what to see Rock City. Despite the urging of countless barns and many, many miniature bird houses, I have never done so.
ReplyDeleteI don't know! THere is SO MUCH vintage christmas stuff out there, the prices really shouldn't be so high.
DeleteOh wow it looks like an amazing place! That would be so frustrating though with very few price tags. I love the poodle bank too!
ReplyDeletexo,
Em
I want that corsage so bad!! Also, what the heck is up with not pricing things?? I haaaaate pricing my stuff. I mean, haaaaaate. But I DO it. On account of I want people to actually BUY things. That is just too weird.
ReplyDeleteI cannot STAND IT WHEN THINGS AREN'T PRICED, OMG. And asking the owner of the store "Hey, what should I do about this, uh, non-priced thing that I really want to buy?" is about as useless as it is, for some reason, suspicion inducing on the part of the owner. Please price EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO SELL, booth vendors! That said, I'm glad they called the dealer for you and you got your gnomes! I want to go to Chattanooga sometime in the spring, I'll have to hit you up for hot spots to look up! :)
ReplyDeleteyes, i'll let you know the good places i've found! it took a few trips to find many.
Deletewow! so many good things. how do you find these places?
ReplyDeleteThat sandwhich looks delicious! Non priced items are a pet peeve of mine as well.

What Lola Wants
OK, I see a ton of stuff here that is awesome. Those candles...omg. Love that green house thing, not sure what that is but it screams 70's and I would have had to buy that.
ReplyDeletePretty sure you should have purchased me that Dr doolittle bear statue. :)
ReplyDeleteRae - you should buy the shirtless men ones! You always seem to find fantastic photos & shirtless men photos sell exceptionally well on eBay (sometimes $100's).
