Estate Sale Finds

This sale was crazy! The house was PACKED full of all kinds of things, and it was super crowded on the day I went. I wanted to take some pictures inside but it was too busy. I would have loved to go back the last day and dig some more, because who knows what cool stuff was hiding in all the boxes and on all the packed shelves! Here is what I ended up with:

A funny little pencil holder, a big Kokeshi doll, a pull string E.T. and a cat pen!

You guys know that I LOVE E.T. The pull string still works and he says "Ouch" "Home" and "Elliot."

Some smalls. Isn't that hankie sweet? The unicorn is a little box.

I love these old keychains that were for motel doors, and now I finally have one! I'll pretend it is from a teepee hotel. It is a perfect aqua color as well.

And check out how cute this guy is! "Prosit Neujahr" is German for Happy New Year!

These are big buttons. How cute are those illustrations?

I occasionally pick up yarn when it is cheap for making pom poms.

I picked these up mostly for the labels!

And last but not least! I picked up this guy because I just can't resist a sad vintage stuff animal. But he is even cooler because he is a radio! The knob on his belly is the volume...

And you tune it with his nose! It needs a battery, and I'm hoping that is all it needs to work!

  5. SCORE!! You totally won the Superbowl in my book, Rae ;) What a palm full of adorable lil stuff! My friend's mom calls littles "gegaws". Fits, right? Let us know if that pup radio works and how much was the Kokeshi? I want to kick Ebay in the crotch for how high those things even start at.
    Great haul! :)

    1. gegaws! i love that!
and i don't want to make you start crying, but that kokeshi was just 3 dollars! not as good as everything else (which was pretty much 50 cents a piece) but a great price.

  6. Oh man! I skipped out on the sales this weekend, but your description of the melee that was entering the house has me sad I did, I love a good hard-scrabble sale! And look at the stuff you got, I think the radio bear and the (AWESOME, OMG, ACTUALLY AWESOME) ET guy was worth it. Your ever-growing button collection, additionally, makes me so jealous. Cheescake and Onions? On a button? YES.

  12. E.T. rules. You always find such amazing stuff at estate sales. The estate sales that post pics online always seem a bit.. bland & boring. Is it because they don't post pictures of the junk & only of the "big stuff" & things they think are "collectible" ?

  13. Wow you found such great things! I too can't leave behind certain stuffed animals..if I knew how to sew I'd make them clothes so they could have makeovers ;) I've never seen one with a radio in it! Too cool. But my favorite actually are the pins, especially the cheesecake one!

  14. Ok...I'm on a mission now to find some pins like that :) I was wondering if there was an identifying info on the back? A company name or anything? When googling for it I just get a lot of vintage pin up stuff, lol!
