Two years of Priscilla!

This post is really late, I'm such a terrible pug mom! Priscilla has lived with us for two years and I wanted to take a little time to celebrate her! I thought of it because she is at the vet right now, getting some teeth pulled and I'm at home waiting for the call that she is out of surgery. So here we go, the story of sweet Priscilla! Don't worry, it isn't sad like Phyllis' story
Here is the first photo we ever saw of her! A friend from work was volunteering at animal control at the time and sent me this text saying "There is a pug here, I think she needs to be yours." Travis and I talked about it and had decided we didn't need another dog (we were fostering that year and kept getting young boy dogs that totally overwhelmed Phyllis) but I said I would go check her out and at least pull her and get her into pug rescue.
I walked into animal control early the next morning and said "I heard you guys have a pug, is she still here?" The ladies at the desk kind of laughed and pointed to the floor by their feet. And there she was, little Miss Priscilla sleeping on a towel on the floor. I took her outside and walked her around and was totally in love. I took her home and we got her checked out by our vet. She had TERRIBLE ear infections, is almost blind, mostly deaf, and her knees are in horrible shape, but she fit in perfectly with our family. According to our estimations, she is 10 this year!
She is a total velcro dog. She wanted to be with me all the dang time and will run herself ragged following me around all day. Her favorite thing to do is sleep on my lap while I'm on the computer, or search the kitchen floor for tidbits. She likes to eat any vegetables that I'm cutting up and loves sitting on Phyllis and pushing her out of the way.
Here are some of my favorite pictures of her! I tried to narrow it down to 10, but 12 the best I could do! I hope you don't mind.
 She loves taking baths.
She is one of the most tolerant dogs I've ever met.
So here is my twice yearly plea, if you are looking for a pet, please consider adopting one from your local shelter! There are LITERALLY millions of animals looking for a home. Even if you are looking for a certain breed with a little patience you can find one at a shelter, or go through a breed specific rescue! Priscilla was found as a stray (what idiot put her out on the street??) and we couldn't love her any more.
Here's to many more years with our sweet ladies! And here is to a lifetime of senior pugs! We'll probably never have a puppy, my heart belongs to these angel seniors!

  3. Oh holy hell, I love all of her dress up photos! lol Your doggies are so freaking adorable. I'm so glad y'all have one another! I'm always stunned by people paying big $$ for pets when there are so many in shelters. We adopted Shiva a little over 4 years ago and I'm so glad. :)

I always wonder how lovely dogs like that end up abandoned. So sad. But she's a lucky one and has obviously found a super duper home for herself! Yayy, Priscilla!! And tell her The Doll says, "Happy Two Years!!"

  15. I love Priscilla so much. You truly got a sweetheart. Although I have 2 youngins, my sweet jazzi was 15 when she passed and she got better with age! They all do! Next time, I'll probably get an older one.
